Five great zombie apocalypse hideouts (Zombie Crawl 2)

Welcome to the Aftershock Zombie Stop on Band of Dystopian’s

2nd Annual Zombie Crawl

Kristopher and I hope that if the undead refuse to stay, well, you know…dead, that you have a plan in place for where to set up shop. We definitely do not want to see you wandering aimlessly through the woods.  Here are five great places to bug out or in to during zombie apocalypse, in case you haven’t started your own list.

5. Cave

If you are lucky enough to find a cave with only one access point, and deep enough to have a constant temperature no matter what the season, a cave may very well be the best place for you and your survival team.

4. House on Stilts

A home that doesn’t really have a bottom floor is fantastic during zombie apocalypse. All you have to do is knock out the stairs and use a ladder instead. The added bonus is most of these homes are  located near water where food is available for those who know how to catch it.

3. Treetop Tent

The only kind of tent I can endorse during zombie apocalypse is a treetop tent. They bungee between the trees and essentially make a house on stilts anywhere. There is a definite case for being able to stay mobile. It makes it easier to follow the weather, and find supplies.

2. Private Island

Just in case you were wondering I call dibs on this island, but if you manage to find one of your own just remember to try to show up with everything you need in advance. Once you are on your own secluded island you will not want to return to the mainland crawling with zombies.

And lastly, #1. Abandoned Underground Bunker

Notice I said abandoned. This part is really important. Never, ever try to take another man’s bunker. I would rather fight zombies until the end of my time. They are less dangerous. Remember that if you end up near mine.

  1. I actually DO have a private island in mind – there are actually 2 in Narragansett Bay, RI. One has 3 houses and my family actually went to see this when it was for sale in the late 60’s. Not TOO far from land so you can keep an eye on things.

  2. Not entering the giveaway or anything but I have to say those are some good places. I think I would rather be on an island so I can not only fish but I can see who is coming close to me. I would of course set traps and whatever I can and I would probably still make my house in the trees just to be safe.

    Awesome places though.
